[PREVIEW] Trend forecasting: Nicola Cooper

“If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring your own chair”

Quickfire Q&A

Who or what inspires you?

People – the more diverse, quirky and interesting the better. I love people who are unafraid to be themselves. I also find the formation or undoing of identity fascinating. I think this is why I’m more than a little obsessed with serial killers. If I wasn’t doing what I currently do, I would be a profiler; I’ve looked into studying this later in life.

If you could have dinner with any three people – alive or no longer with us – who would they be and what would you serve?

Faith Popcorn – my favourite trend person. I just love her mind.
Jack White – I love his approach to music. He has such a brilliant mind and you can see it in every product. From reintroducing vinyl to mainstream, to handmade guitars, songwriting and personal style, he is an interesting man.
Padre Pio – the last known stigmatic. I have been so fascinated by marks of identification, psychosomatic manifestations and Catholicism, I would have loved to meet/interview/study him.
